In a heartening and head scratching turn of events, according to my doctor - mission accomplished. I was at my physical this morning and asked her where I should eventually aim to end up and she got out her fancy computer chart and pulled up my BMI and said well, you're at 26 and we want people to be below 27, so, you're good.
Wait, what?
That...can't be be possible given what the scale is saying (145.6 according to the doctor's fancy pants scale). How is that "done" given that various charts floating around the Internet say that at 5'3 I should be aiming for 115 (haaaaaa, not gonna happen). But apparently it isn't so much about the number than the BMI. 27 and above is overweight and 20-26 is normal, so I'm just scootching in under the normal wire, but, huh. Aside from a couple years right out of high school I've been overweight by one stretch or another for probably 20 years.
Now, I don't consider myself done, I'd still like to drop another 10-15 (and apparently random people in the apartment complex don't consider me done either as I was walking the dog and there was a group of people sitting on the deck across the way and one of the guys loudly said to his group 'man, look at that fat ass') but this is a precarious new place I find myself in. But overall, a cautiously optimistic don't get cocky and shove cookies in your mouth yay?
I think you should be proud of yourself and who the HELL says that? I'd like to find that guy and punch him in the junk.
I'm proud of you!
